The Cadiz Bay Port Authority continues to take measures in relation to the COVID-19 crisis in order to limit its spread as much as possible and safeguard the health of workers and users of the port.
As is known, the activity is kept within the state of alarm. At an operational level, the accesses to docks and piers remain open, with the usual entry control, and the operation is carried out in compliance with the necessary restrictions and security measures. All the terminals are operational, and both our own staff and the different agents of the Port Community are making every effort to guarantee the provision of services.
At an administrative level, the main offices remain closed although the telematic communication channels are fully available and the administrative management of the services provided (authorisation, monitoring, amortisation, invoicing, accounting, collection) is still carried out in the form of non-presential work.
For the Port Authority it is a priority to protect workers and users, so it has implemented temperature controls in the fish markets of Cadiz and El Puerto de Santa Maria, as well as in the wholesale fish market in the port.
For the time being, these controls are voluntary, although from next week they will be compulsory, and those with a fever will not be able to access these facilities.
This measure is in addition to the use of masks, screens, gloves, hydroalcoholic gel, booties and disposable overalls, as well as the placement of protective methacrylate screens at the access controls to the Cadiz dock (at the Plaza de Sevilla control), the Cabezuela-Puerto Real and the El Puerto de Santa María dock, as well as in the warehouse, in order to guarantee a safety distance of two meters and protect the health of all employees.
On the other hand, cleaning and disinfection work is being carried out in accordance with the protocols established by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health and Families of the Regional Government of Andalusia. In addition, to reinforce these disinfection tasks, a portable ozone gun has been purchased.
